The page emphasizes the importance of technology in modern ministry. It highlights experience in managing online communities (Facebook pages, websites), presenting tech workshops (e.g., Google Apps at APCE), and organizing a Tech for Churches Conference. It showcases skills in online communication, digital outreach, and equipping church leaders with technology.
In today's rapidly evolving world, technology is no longer an optional add-on for ministry – it's an essential tool for connection, education, and empowerment. For years, I've been deeply engaged in leveraging technology to strengthen the church, equip leaders, and expand our reach. My experience spans online community building, website management, social media engagement, and hands-on training.
My involvement in the digital sphere includes serving as an administrator for several key online communities:
Presbyterian Church (USA) Clergy, Christian Educators & Mission Co-Workers Facebook page: Managing spaces like this vibrant online space has allowed me to foster connection, facilitate resource sharing, and support collaboration among a diverse group of leaders within the PCUSA.
Hope4CE Facebook page: As an administrator for Hope4CE, I've helped to supervise a supportive community focused on Christian education, sharing valuable resources, and fostering dialogue among educators.
Association of Christian Educators' Website: My role as an administrator for the ACE website has involved ensuring the platform remains a relevant and accessible hub for information, resources, and connections for Christian educators across denominations.
My passion for equipping others with technological skills has also led me to share my knowledge at a national level. At the Association of Partners in Christian Education (APCE) National Convention, I led workshops, including a well-received session in 2017 on "Navigating the Chaos of Google Apps." This workshop provided practical strategies and tools for effectively utilizing Google's suite of applications in ministry settings.
Furthermore, I actively contributed to the Association of Partners in Christian Education (APCE) Communications Team, where I headed up website edits and contributed to social media initiatives. This experience allowed me to hone my online communication and digital outreach skills, ensuring that vital information reached our diverse membership.
One of my most significant initiatives was the organization and management of the Tech for Churches Conference in New York State. For three years before the COVID-19 pandemic, I spearheaded this free conference, empowering churches with practical technological skills and insights. We served over 50 churches annually, bringing together diverse speakers who led workshops on various topics relevant to ministry in the digital age. This experience underscored my ability to understand and utilize technology and effectively teach and equip others to do the same.
My experience demonstrates a deep understanding of the power of technology to enhance ministry. I am passionate about helping churches and their leaders navigate the digital landscape effectively, fostering connection, expanding their reach, and furthering their mission in an increasingly digital world.
